The Organization

Introduction

The Building Advanced Society through Integrated Community (BASIC) Development Foundation is a non-profit organization working since 2010 to improve social and economic conditions of marginalized communities across Sindh. Established in response to harsh living realities, rising poverty, and limited access to basic services, BASIC Dev. Foundation recognizes environmental and climate vulnerability as key drivers of poverty and increasing disability, and works through inclusive, community-centered actions to reduce risk and strengthen community resilience.

A society where all people have equal opportunities through inclusive, sustainable, and integrated community development.

Mission

To facilitate and support communities in inclusive, people-led livelihood and development initiatives for enduring sustainability.

Objectives:

• To support people-led initiatives addressing environmental degradation, promoting conservation, resilience, and sustainable resource management.
• To support community institutions, enabling inclusive, people-led planning, decision-making, and development for sustainable impact.
• To enhance livelihood opportunities by supporting sustainable agriculture, skill development, and promotion of local enterprises.
• To support communities in leading their development through collective action and efficient, sustainable resource management.
• To support inclusion and equality by ensuring active, meaningful participation of people with disabilities in all initiatives.
• To support committees in enhancing health, education, WASH services, and access to affordable housing facilities.
• To support communities in strengthening capacity and resilience to effectively mitigate and manage disaster impacts.
